Bullet Journaling
Bullet Journaling is lowkey a pretty cool thing. I honestly want to make a habit of it, but I don’t have the real Bullet Journal. So, this is my notepad Bullet Journal setup.

My Key
Starting with the key, the most important part of the bullet journal. By assigning a specific symbol to the start of every line, you can categorize information as fast as you can think it. At a glance, your brain can distinguish between a task you need to do, an event you need to attend, and a random thought you just want to remember.
Here is my key:
| Symbol | Definition |
|---|---|
| • This is a task | A standard task to be completed |
| ✖ This is a completed task | A task that has been finished |
| A task that is no longer necessary | |
| > This is a migrated task | A task moved forward to a new day or collection |
| △ This is an event | A scheduled appointment, meeting, or date |
| — This is a note | An observation, thought, or piece of information |
| ! • This is important | An urgent or high-priority task |
| • Task ⏲ tomorrow 15:00 | A task with a specific due date or deadline |
| ◎ This is a goal | A high-level objective or long-term target |
The beauty of this system is that you don’t need a fancy app or a pre-printed planner. You just need to remember these symbols, and any blank piece of paper becomes your dashboard.
Rapid Logging
This is where the key comes in. You use the icons for different things. So instead of journaling normally, you use different symbols for different things.
Example:
• Prepare presentation for Google x Amazon partnership
! ✖ Make quarterly business review presentation ⏲ Next friday 8AM
• Spend some time touching grass
— Surprisingly hot today 90 degrees celsius
Removing bloat
With a traditional BUJO setup, there will be many seperate pages for a habit tracker, gratitude log, and more. But I like to put these in the daily log. Habits will be assigned to the task symbol, gratitude to a dash, and goals to a target symbol.
Conclusion
That’s all I wanted to say! Have a good weekend!
